RUN THE VINES - Rhebokskloof Wine Estate, Paarl, Western Cape (MARATHONS & SPORTING EVENTS)

SO glad we caught this in time, as this has to be one of our Top 10 Events to participate in this year in our MARATHONS & SPORTING EVENTS section.We know our focus is ROAD RUNNING, and this is a trail run...we will get back to that, and feature more anyway, but PLEASE go have a look at this concept, ITS SO COOL.

Meet......

This is possibly the brightest idea ever, a trail run through wine farms...I know right?!...because the after part makes the before part worthwhile, LOVE WINE...NOMNOM.

OK, but seriously, before we even go into what the organisers have to say, just think about it, fresh air, check, beautiful terrain, CHECK, landscape views, check, the Western Cape, check, a tough enough terrain to feel like a serious marathon, check, and wine, check...sounds perfect yes???!!!

BUT WAIT, there's more, there are to be 12 marathons in this series, which mean twelve wine farms to run through til next February, even if you don't live close, and live in Jhb, or further, like the US OR FRANCE, then this just makes going to Cape Town even more worth your while.

So, "Run the Vines" is a Trail Run Series that takes place throughout the Paarl and Wellington Region, which as we all know is possibly the most beautiful part of South Africa. And their aim, at Run the Vines, is to promote a fit and healthy lifestyle to all participants, families and friends, and anyone from anywhere can visit.

The more serious runner can complete the 10km race, while for the rest who just want to drink wine &/or play afterwards with the other kids can do the 5km, either way, its the experience which we know will be worth it, just by its location alone, let alone anything else. There is also live entertainment after each event at the wine farm, so that you are ensured not to want to leave....like you need convincing to stay on a wine farm....?

The first event will take place during the Ommiberg Festival, which alone attracts 4500 visitors as its one of the biggest wine festivals around, and again, you re almost guaranteed a good time, unless you choose otherwise. And all tickets for the 7th of March Trail Run will include tickets to the Festival....whooohooo!!!!
