NAMASTE' RETREATS

We think its imperative to go to a Holistic Retreat at least once a year, and at the very least once in your life, and sooner rather than later so you can get addicted to feeling well.

Under TRAVEL & RELAXATION, we are focusing on Holistic Retreats.

At Namaste' Wellness Retreats SA, their focus is Revitalise, Detox and Weight-loss, but their Detoxification is of the Body, Mind and Soul.

Their specialist team of experts are eager to guide, motivate and inspire you through what will certainly be a profound and memorable journey in finding your personal formula to health and longevity.

Their renowned goal-orientated Detox Programmes have been designed from both a medical and scientific standpoint and have provided their guests with optimal results over the years. The programmes will allow one to neutralise and safely eliminate toxins which have accumulated over time and then assist in making lasting changes to ones lifestyle back home.

They aim to significantly alter your perception of healthy living by uncovering the underlying flawlessness of your body, mind and soul...and they believe that it's easier than we think.

They believe that Detoxing frees us from harmful chemicals, toxins, sugars and excess fats that builds up in our vessels from the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe, basically life can be a bit toxic.
As we get older, our body's natural ability to rid us of these toxins decreases leaving us tired, despondent and in-line for chronic illness. Detoxification has a positive benefit on most Chronic Illness's because it impacts almost all the bodies systems, including Cardiovascular, Nervous, Immune, Respiratory, Gastrointestinal, Urinary, Skin, Musculoskeletal and Endocrine.

We love this because is strengthens the body in its fight against diseases the likes of Cancer, and cleanses the liver and digestive tracts which allows proper absorption of nutrients to facilitate higher energy levels, and it facilitates reduced stress levels and boost weight-loss. (yay)

A detox retreat is a sanctuary where you are offered the time and space necessary to detoxify and purify the mind, body and soul. Its NOT a spa getaway, as their intensive programs are designed from a medical and scientific standpoint to assist you in detoxifying and purifying your mind, body and soul.

They offer three programmes;
1. Revitalise (4 Days)
2. Detox (7 Days)
3. Intensive Detox (10 Days)

Each program includes,
- 5-Star Accommodation in the Natal Midlands,
- Comprehensive Take-Home Eating Plan,
- All Natural Supplementation,
- Happy Water,
- Herbal Tea's,
- Meditation Class's,
- Yoga Sessions,
- Guided Walks,
- Indoor & Outdoor Heated Pools,
- Fully Equipped Gym, Sauna & Steam Rooms.

HEA-VEN-LY!

BODHI KHAYA RETREAT

We found another GEM of a retreat, a tad simpler than some, but earthier we think, not saying that one is better than the other, its preference. We would do them all if you could.
This Month we are focusing on HOLISTIC RETREATS in our TRAVEL & RELAXATION segment.

This is....
Bodhi Khaya is situated on Baviaans Fonteyn Farm, the oldest in the area. It is a retreat that ofers everything from Art to Zen, nestled at the foot of the Witkransberg in the beautiful Overberg region. It boasts 217 hectares of indigenous Fynbos and Milkwood forest.

Connect with nature, you kindred spirits and your own heart.

Bodhi Khaya blends Buddism with South African culture. 'Bodhi' means 'awareness' in Sanskrit and refers to the Buddha's knowledge when he attained enlightenment 2500 years ago, while 'Khaya' goes beyond its better known meaning of 'home' to express a sense of belonging and a spiritual base.

They are a member of the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy whose mission is to promote the conservation of the natural and cultural diversity of the Cape Floral Kingdom. The area is home to more types of indigenous plants than any similar area, approximately 6300 of its 9000 plant species are found NOWHERE else in the world.

Guarenteed beauty! We are so incredibly lucky to have the spaces we have in South Africa.

At Bodhi Khaya they offer many retreats, here are a few examples; (bodhi-khaya retreats)
- The Joy of Conscious Eating
- Clear Mind, Good Heart Retreat
- The Eternal Possibility
- Yoga Poise Retreat
- Yoga Spirit Retreat
- Open the Heart & Still the Mind

IXOPO BUDDHIST RETREAT

With so much happening that causes Stress, sometimes a holiday needs to be a deeper experience, sometimes we need to have isolated 'Me-Time', no kids, spouses or looming tourists. Sometimes we can gather our thoughts and rejuvenate at isolated beach resort, sometimes we need more, more included addressing the hustle & bustle of our own heads, and finding stillness that comes from Holistic Retreats.

Here, you not only have a physical holiday, and a people holiday, but here you are taught to find a peace holiday, where the holiday continues even when you leave.

Our Focus for TRAVEL & RELAXATION this month is Holistic Retreats.

Ok, so we realise that many/ most are not Buddhist's, but going to the Buddhist Retreat Centre, Ixopo, in Natal, does not require you to be one, merely to be open to the teachings, its not a religious takeover and can benefit even the most religious of people. But we are aiming at heightened spirituality and peace of mind and body, so take note of that.

This place is so beautiful, its an experience just to stand still.

Perched on a ridge at the head of a valley in the Umkomaas River system in KwaZula-Natal, the Buddhist Retreat Centre looks out on a vista of indigenous valleys, forests and rolling hills receding like waves in the blue distance.
For more than 20 years, people of all religions and none have gone to experience peace and tranquillity like no other. It is a gentle, sympathetic space where one can be still and get in touch with oneself and reflect on the things that crowd ones life.
CNN featured the BRC as one of the 10 finest meditation centres in the world.

Paths threading the 300 acre property each bring their own revelation: follow the pine scented path to the dam, walk past the ancient Cycads to the tracks of the early Voortrekker wagons, or point your feet towards the rocky outcrop that provides a perfect seat for contemplating the valley below.

Integrated into this setting are the Centre's buildings, accommodation lodges and cottages, the dining room, office, shop, lecture & art studio, a library and the Meditation hall.

(Watch this documentary...its beautiful)

There is so much to see and feel, but go to their website for more, even that is worth the trip...
