ABSOLUTE PILATES SA - PRETORIA GAUTENG

In FITNESS TRAINING & ACTIVITIES we decided to back to the studio and back to basics, and when we say 'basics', we don't mean workouts for beginners only, we mean what every workout program should start with, or include, from the onset...PILATES. What our CROSS-FITTERS & BODY BODY-BUILDERS out there don't realise, is that, including PILATES into there workout programs, not only protects them from long-term injury, but actually enhances their performance and strength abilities to record heights. PILATES is like wearing a permanent WEIGHT-TRAINING-BELT, but for life.

Meet.....
This week we find ourselves in PRETORIA EAST, GAUTENG, at the exclusively modern PILATES studio situated on the beautiful SILVERLAKES GOLF ESTATE in the Silverlakes Gold Academy.

The studio is equipped with the latest equipment from the USA, and they are the only studio in South Africa where one can experience the value of exercising with the MVE Chair, which stand for 'Maximum Versatility Exercise'. This chair is facilitates movements that require all muscles in the body to perform at the same time, and because of the weight bearing nature of many of the exercises, the MVE program stimulates bone mineralisation and helps to prevent osteoporosis.

Their studio includes many other standard PILATES 'toys - equipment - props', such as the reformers, magic circles, therabands, triad-balls, stability balls, and our favourite piece of equipment, the Cadillac Trapeze, THIS IS THE SHIZZLE!!!

Pilates will change your life and everything about what you thought exercise was, and here is why:


By emphasizing proper breathing, correct posture through spinal alignment & pelvic contractions, as well as flowing non-jerking movements, you will become acutely in tune with your body....this is something that most people are not. We are not aware of how our own body works or how to direct its movement, we are not in charge, and PILATES will get us there, safely.

In PILATES the quality of movement is valued over the repetition, and with proper breathing, we can execute movements with maximum power and efficiency.

Other benefits are reduced stress, which we all need, and most importantly, we develop a strong core, which should be our starting point, as it is this which prevents injury to the back, and ultimately the rest of the body.

Once we can master core-stability, we can more than likely master ANY movement, THAT IS WHY WE NEED PILATES, to be able to do everything else. 'The End'
